Checking in :)

And letting everyone know I haven’t fallen off the face of the virtual world just too busy to keep up lately. School is in full swing, we’re down a therapist and dealing with constant scheduling issues. (Miss you, Colleen! Hope all is well! Love and prayers to your other half, too!) And I haven’t even begun to bring home real work yet.

My kids (both middle-schoolers now) are keeping me busy too. Their friends are now in, out and often over so my house is definitely abuzz w/activity almost all the time. And we’ve got a new superintendent in the schoolhouse, so things are changing (not necessarily for the bad) but the kids’ work is intense and keeping them focused means Mom can’t always wear that writer hat as often as she’d like. We’re closing up our cottage this upcoming weekend and I was under the weather last weekend so lots of writing time keeps going out the virtual window.

At the writing end I’m a bit frustrated, so I’m taking a step back and deciding which courses of action I’d like to pursue. A few blogs and interviews are in the works. (Getting them formatted and posted gets ridiculously time-consuming when your internet software gives grief!) Look for me too, at author Toni Sweeney’s blog next week (10/15) where I’ll be dropping in w/a guest blog of my own. Topic? Most likely I’ll be discussing ‘downsizing.’

Best wishes and love to all. As always, your support is much appreciated! Sorry for so disjointed a message but I’m in serious need of sleep. 🙂

Until next time,

  1. Hi, Joanna, I remember those days, but my girl is in college now. When she was little, I was homeschooling her while going to college full-time and working…and taking the bus everywhere. Whew, it was exhausting. Take care of yourself. -laura

  2. Hi Joanna,

It is different, getting used to the back-to-school routine in the Fall. It definitely changes the writing process for me. It’s amazing how hard it is to find writing time when real life gets in the way.

    1. Thanks, Debra. I spent over three hours working with one son on a project. No time left for mom. Oh well…

      Thanks for stopping in 🙂
